Ferret Central There are more photographs of my old ferret Sunshine and her partner in crime, Shades. She is sorely missed! For current ferret owners, there is information on health, training and general maintenance of ferrets. "Ferrets have two modes: asleep and in trouble."

Dogs: In October of 1999, I acquired Onyx (labrador retriever/newfoundland mix) from New Jersey Newfoundland Rescue. Onyx enjoyed obedience, agility, and flyball classes and has passed his Canine Good Citizen Test (qualifying for Therapy Dogs International).  We miss him.

We currently have Katydid Tree.  Katie is a golden retriever that we acquired from Almost Heaven Golden Retriever Rescue. She is a wild puppy, but a good family dog.

Introducing a dog to your home is a big decision. Please learn as much as you can about a breed before you make the big leap. For example, Newfoundlands (pictured below) are my favorite breed. Newfs are large, hairy, they need to be around people a lot, and they drool (ACK!). If you aren't ready for these traits, you don't really want a newf. Similarly, golden retrievers are moderately sized, hairy, rambunctious and require exercise daily.  If you don’t keep your golden busy – it will find ways to keep itself busy (at the peril of your home).  Every breed of dog has its own pitfalls. Know what you are getting into before you buy a dog!

One of my favorite sports is volleyball, and I also keep track of the following pages:

Family

My husband, James Anderson, and I were joined by our son, Trigg Everett Anderson, on Tuesday, 19 December 2000. He was nine pounds even, and 22 inches long.

Beck Olaf Anderson joined us on Sunday, 22 June 2003.  Beck weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 21.5 inches long.  Trigg was thrilled to meet his baby brother.

Tor Sven Anderson joined us on Thursday, 8 September 2005.  Tor weighted 10 lbs 12 oz and was 22.5 inches long.  Beck and Trigg are wonderful big brothers.
